TEAM NEWS | WALSALL Vs ASTON VILLA | PRE SEASON
The fitness of England Striker Darius Vassell is making the headlines. Vassell is believed to be a major doubt for the game. It's a well known fact that Juan Pablo Angel is also out of the game, as he struggled to find fitness in time for the new season. That leaves it open to Carlton Cole and the Moore brothers to take up the striking roles. It would also be nice to see Walsall transfer target Stevie Cooke. 
Jorge Leitao, Simon Osborn and Zigor Aranalde have all missed parts of pre-season with injuries. It remains to be seen whether any of them will be fit enough to face the Villa.  We expect Richard McKinney to start in goal following Mark Paston's start against the Manchester United XI. Merse has said he will be starting the game off with a strong team. Another chance for Fryatt and Birch to cement a partnership?
