2004-2005 was Julian Bennett's first season as a professional footballer. Bennett was one of the Youth Team's most consistent figures. His excellent Reserve Team performances got him a spot on the bench when we played Wigan Away during 2003-2004. He made his debut coming on to replace Matt Carbon. He started 04-05 at left back, but soon moved in to the center and kept his place there until the closing stages of the season when he picked up a bad injury and sat out the rest of the year. He ended up being a contender for the player of the season award and became one of the most successful youth team graduates we've had for some time. He is expected to be fit in time for 05-06.
Julian Bennett has pace, power and poise. The only thing he lacks is experience.
