Taiwo Atieno is a name we have regularly heard over the last couple of seasons. Always scoring for the youth team and playing regularly for the reserve team we weren't surprised to see him get a deal in the summer of 2004. Merson only used him a handful of times and he spent most of the season on loan with Rochdale and Chester. The highlight of his loan spells was playing for Rochdale at the Valley against Premiership Charlton.

Atieno is a strong target man who thrives on balls in to the box. He isn't the greatest with ball at his feet and can lack some composure in front of goal. Certainly a confidence player in the Andy Rammell mould. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
