Dave Jones has spent his first full week in charge at Pools which included getting out the paint brushes for the new training facility at Durham (is there nothing in Hartlepool? ) ....

It would be a major surprise of he makes many changes for the trip to Newportt County - barring injuries and illness.

Pools were monumentally better last week and certainly the side which Sam Collins selected had a much a better shape. Brad Walker and Rhys Oates making the big difference and they must surely start again.

Nathan Thomas came on for a few minues, but picked up a knock, so it may well be that our moist creative forward many not even be on the bench. Jones says to rush him back into 90 minutes could be the wrong move long term.

One player who does know where he will figure at County is on-loan goalie Joe Fryer who signed from Boro during the week. The 21 year old will be on the bench as cover for Adam Bartlett wjo is doing well after Scott Carson's shoulder op put him out for the season.
