Soft Goals

You could see it happening. Billy Paynter has the easiest chance of his life to put Pools in the lead but it bounces off his shins and a minute later Notts County get a soft headed winner ..

In fact all three of their goals were what can be described as "soft" which continues the worrying trend despite the arrival of Hignett and Co.

What we did see on a night when the wind dictated possession was Pools and as an attacking force as they pulled their way back from a 2-0 half time deficit.

With Nathan Thomas ruling the left wing umpteen corsses fizzed across the box with Jake Gray scoring a magnifiocent vollyed first from an acute angle and then Paynter steering in an equaliser.

But it wasn't enough and we are in the mire. Shore up that defence and we will be ok. But do it soon.
