Two away wins a row gives us hope that miracles can happen. The newfound spirit saw Pools home at Oxford and the 2-0 win means that the defence has not conceded in almost 200 minutes of football ( there was ten minutes of extra time at the Kassam}. .

Ryan Bird got the first after Franks' shot was parried and he should have got the second, but his penalty hit the post and Neil Austin was the first to react.

Oxford had a good go but we now face mid-table Mansfield at the Vic this week looking for a hat trick of victories, which should close the gap on the pack above us who are on 37 points.

We didn't make up as much ground as we might with Carlisle and Tranmere also winning. Fortunately Cheltenham only got a point and York lost at home to Bury.

So we are four points adrift with nine games to go. Miracle Man Moore might just do it.

Were you there last night? There were 9 minutes added time because the ref was injured and had to be replaced. No football happened during that time, so there weren't 99 mins of football. In fact with all the Hartlepool time wasting I'd be surprised if there were even 60 :-)
