If the action on the pitch proves to be as dramatic as that which has been taking place behind the scenes we're in for an exciting Christmas.
There are still lots of unanswered questions as to who exactly has taken over at the Vic - and why.
But for now the action is back where it belongs. New manager Ronnie Moore will need all his experience if he is to create a match winning side after just a couple of days on the training ground.
Big Sam Collins says there's a buzz around the Vic - but then he has dutifully trotted out similar lines every time there has been a regime change, and that has been quite often.
Moore is making different noises. He appears to be giving players a much needed kick up the backside, including Brad Walker who has the potential to be one of our saviours.
Moore's team selection plans will doubtless be led by Miller who is, unfortunately, still injured and won't on the pitch against Oxford but may be back for Sunday's game.
Michael Duckworth could well be back and so may Tommy Miller. The former is the most vital as our defence has been shaky to say the least.
