Harewood To Start?

New boss Paul Murray gets his first real chance to stake his credentials with the visit of Newport County to the Vic ..

Murray has now had a week and a half to work with his new charges, plus the benefit of seeing them in action at Cambridge.

He will be without Michael Bates, and long term injury victims Stuart Parnaby and Jack Compton, but otherwise he's able to choose from a fully fit squad which includes two players who looked rejuvenated last week - veteran Marlon Harewood and Brad Walker.

The latter is almost certain to start, after being rested during Sam Collins' tenure ,while Marlon may well be used as a second half sub.

It looks like County will have selection probelms of a different nature. They have the previously in-form Robbie Willmott out with a foot injury, and he joins striker Rene Howe,Danny Crow and Chris Zebroski  who are recently injured.

County will also be without Ryan Jackson, Kevin Feely and Adam Chapman, and will check on the fitness of Mike Flynn, Mark Byrne and Yan Klukowski.
 
Regardless, Pools need to find a team, and a formula, which gets us back on the winning track.
 
It was good to see the FA Cup draw back live on the BBC this week,  great to see a home draw against non-league opposition in East Thurrock, but throughly depressing to hear the presenter announce us to the nation "as bottom of the Football League Hartlepool United."
 
That really hurt - so let's put it right
