There's more rain on the way but the Vic is in good shape and one of the oldest and most enduring fixtures in professional football should go ahead. The basement battles against Newport County used to be one of the features of every season in the old Division Four so it's good to see the Welshmen back.

Fortunately, it's not a battle to avoid relegation [or even re-election] this season. County are just outside the play-off places and we are once again looking like we might challenge - and if we are to do so we need to keep on keeping clean sheets.

The experience of Sam Collins has undoubtedly been a factor in the last two shut-outs and he will lead the side against County in the continued absence of Neil Austin.

Jordan Richards will continue at right back with Cooper's main selection dilemma up front. Will he start with the skills and guile of Barmby or continue with Marlon Harewood who featured in most of the 2-0 win at Dagenham last week?  With a strong winds forecast he will probably stick with big Marlon to provide some knock downs for Luke James.

County include Chris Zebroski  after the striker recovered from a dislocated knee cap which has kept him out since November. They will also feature former Bristol City striker Aaron Holloway who signed this week following a successful trial.
