Barmby to start?

Jack Barmby looks likely to start his first game for Pools as we take on  promotion favourites Scunthorpe United at the Vic ..

The Man U loanee looked a class above when he came on against York and his goal was a peach. If he does star what happens to Monkhouse?

One option would be to play him up front with Luke James where his mobility and ability to dop the unexpected could pay dividends. Marlon Hareweood doesn't look match fit and like Steve Howard before him  his presence invites the long ball when the side is set up to keep the ball down. Harewood coming off the bench would be a nice option to have.

Sam Collins will be in the side to replace the suspended Jack Baldwin.

Scunnie will be without top striker Deon Burton, who was injured in the 3-3 draw at Dagenham last week. The Iron had been leading 3-0!

Pools: Flinders, Austin, Collins, Burgess, Holden, Williams, Walton, Walker, Barmby, Harewood/Monkhouse, James, Subs: Rafferty, Hawkins, Sweeney,  Franks, Compton, Rodney,
