Nardiello

Before this 1-0 defeat by basement Bury Colin Cooper wasn't in a rush to go into the transfer market. He may have changed his mind when he woke up this morning ..

The home club hadn't won at home since the end of August, but they showed more fight and vigour throughout and should have won by more.

Pools, by comparison, never competed in midfield and we had only a couple of efforts on goal..

If we are going to get into the play-offs these are the games where we need to roll up our sleeves and grind out a result through sheer hard work.

We used to have Paul Murray who did that job and someone like him who can graft week in week out, and get other players into the game, is much needed at the moment. Walton  and Dolan have qualities but don't seem able to do the engine room job - at least away from home.

For the record former Pools loanee Danny Nardiello - a thorn in our flesh all night - got the only goal three minutes into the second half.
