Anyone else noticed that the new PA announcer at Pools knows nothing about football? If you don't believe me listen out for his half time and full time scores this week when he will doubtless describe Wycombe's opponents as "Acton" ... work it out for yourselves ..
Fortunately, Colin Cooper has proved in recent weeks that he does know the game. He has transformed an ailing Pools side by not picking a couple of journeymen and by instilling a new confidence in lads who can get the ball down and play.
Last week's reverse at Scunny was one of those games which could have gone either way - very much like the Wimbeldon game at the Vic four days earlier when we had the benefit of the three points.
Dagenham and Redbridge will provide similar tough opposition. They are going well and are just outside the play off places and are unbeaten in their last three games after losing 2-01 at home to Cheltenham.
But we are in the happy place of not being too botehred by the opposition as long as we can get our game going. We need to beat the Daggers to start an unbeaten run going which will continue at Newport next Friday before we have a pleasant break for two Cup ghames - both at the Vic.
