After finally finding the net the only changes to Pools line-up against Wycombe at the Vic will be on the bench ..
Steve Howard's facial injury has cleared up so he's fit and likely to be asked to play the role for which he is ideally suited - that of a second half "impact" player.
Hoepfully he won't be needed to come on tto win the game. Whether that happens very much depends on whether the frontmen can continue where they finished off against Bradford City.
Discovering that right wingers play better on the right wing is one of the factors that produced five goals - as was one of the performances that we all know Andy Monkhouse is capable of. If only he could do it every week.
Having another player who can occupy the minds of defenders undoubtedly helps young Luke Hames. Stick him up front on his own and he struggles. Give him some room and support and he can torment.
It's not a queston of sitting him alongside a flick-on merchant - what he needs is someone to take the weight of running into space stretching the opposition defence by sheer energy. Monky can help him out there as can a rejuvenated James Poole.
We wil be taking on a team on a bit of a run. Wanderers are unbeaten in the last three games - after finishing mid-table last season -but if we play as we did on Tuesday a home win and a couple of goals should get us back on track.
