The Hartlepool Mail is quite specific - it's Colin Cooper who will be next into the hot seat at the Vic ... at least he wont have to uproot his family ...

By all accounts everyone at the Boro knows that the 46 year old has accepted the job after being interviewed last week. Cooper has even told the Under 18s he coaches so one would be very surprised if the Pools' management do a "Phil Brown" about face on this appointment.

He promises to be a solid recruitment under no illusion about budgets, and with a host of local contacts and a knowledge of up and coming players from the area.

However, one note of caution. Pools have their own talented bunch of young players coming through, and it would be a great shame if their development was stalled by an influx of Boro Acedmy players who were just at the Vic to gain some league experience.

 Did the Cahrlie Wyke loan spell work out for either the lad or Pools? Don't think so.

Born in Durham

Midlfield player with Boro,Sunderland, Millwall and Forest

Caretaker manager at Bradford and Boro

Sacked from Boro coaching staff by Gordon Strachan but returned to become an academy coach under Tony Mowbray.

Cooper's always seemed intelligent and a good communicator when Ive seen him interviewed so we could do worse.

He was very popular at Afford when he was there and is supposed to be very good on the coaching front so good news. What we dont want to do is pack the side with Boro loanees no bloody future in that
