Another Pools game in the balance

Hartlepool United got it wrong last week when they said there shouldn't be any problem for Saturday's home League One game against Colchester, so it's no surprise there are no predictions coming from Victoria Park for Tuesday's match against Bournemouth.

The Vic pitch was declared unfit on Friday to save Colchester setting off through the snow that's covering the country, and the postponement was a blow for Pools, because the visitors are one of the few teams in the country with a worse recent record than themselves.

Bournemouth, on the other hand, are going a lot better, though their 15-game unbeaten run came to an end on Saturday when they ooist 3-1 at Walsall in one of the few lower division games to be played.

The weather in Hartlepool has eased a little, with a slight thaw on Saturday, but the forecast is not good and Bournemouth face an even longer journey than Colchester did.

This time Pools might actually welcome the "game off" signs.
