Hartlepool United and Oldham Athletic have agreed to re-schedule their Bank Holiday game postponed on Monday for next Saturday, January 2. But they will need a thaw, and the weather to go against what is currenrly forecast if the Vic is to be playable.
It had been under a layer of frozen snow since the last match, against Yeovil, and a heavy frost on Sunday night put paid to the game going ahead.
But with both teams out of the FA Cup, they were not due to play again until Saturday January 9 before the new date was fixed.
The fact that the snow came down straight after the Yeovil game meant the pitch had not been covered, so now Pools are hoping for a thaw this week.
But while the midweek forecast isn't bad, the weather is expected to get worse on Thursday and Friday with first sleet and then snow, accompanied by freezing temperatures.
fingers crossed ...
