Hartlepool took the mick out of Darlo this afternoon and won the game comfortable 3-0. The takes Pools unbeaten run to 22 games and that is a new club record

EASY - EASY - EASY!!!!!

Hartlepool totally dominated the first derby at the Darlington Arena and the travelling army of 3 750 went home singing as two goals from E Williams and another from Monkhouse secured victory for Pools.

The game started very close and Darlington took advantage of a very bouncy pitch and put Pools under a bit of pressure but nothing really to challenge the defense. Darlington's first real chance was a free kick which took a wicked deflection towards the top corner but Dimi made the save of his career to get across and tip it over the bar

Hartlepool had plenty of chances with E Williams, Humphreys and Barker all having chances. It took 39 minutes for Pools to take the lead. The ball was played over the top to Williams and he did superbly brilliant to volley into the top corner. The Pools fans went into total raptures and had the bragging rights going in at half time

Half Time
Darlington 0-1 Hartlepool

The second half couldnt have started any better than Pools as after just 6 minutes when E Williams scored probably the goal of the season. The ball over the top was superbly controlled by Williams before he unleashed a superb strike into the back of the net.

This is when the game got funny as the Darlo fans lost their tempers and decided to take it out on ... well each other really. And whilst they were doing the Pools fans were have a right laugh at them.

As the game went on Pools attacked more and more - the Pools fans sang more and more and the Darlo fans got more and more frustrated and more of them were getting kicked out.

The game could have easily been 3-0 but the referee chickened out of giving a penalty when one of the Darlo defenders practically punched the ball out of the box.

Darlington were getting desperate and brought on Julian Joachim, for Neil Wainwright who was their best player,  but I think he only touched the ball once as Micky Nelson took the mick out of him

The score finally did go to 3-0 when Andy Monkhouse headed in the rebound from a James Brown shot which hit off the post. The chant of 'EASY' rang round the away end and the Darlo fans stopped their rioting probably to start crying.

The Hartlepool fans today were a honour to the club as they sang from start to finish and they didnt go looking for trouble. The players were a different class and totally outplayed Darlington - and it must be said that Darlo have just lost their 13 game unbeaten run.

Well done to everyone at Hartlepool United and lets take it into the rest of the season and get a trophy at the end of this one
