It has ben made no secret that Pools have struggled in front of goal this season but we seem to have found the most unexpected answer. Jon Daly's hat trick not only secured all 3 points but also made him League 2 top goalscorer

3 goals from Jon Daly not only secured Pools all 3 points but also made him top scorer in League 2. Pools dominated play and deserved the 3-0 win with Wrexham rarely challenging Dimi in the Pools goal.

Pools started the better side and created chances through Porter, Brackstone, Robson and also Jon Daly looked dangerous in the air.

The opening goal came from a corner which was headed in by Daly. Set pieces have been something Pools have struggled with in recent season but seem to have finally got it right.

The second came moments later and it was once again Jon Daly. This time Willie Boland did well to dribble through the Wrexham defense and pass it across goal for Daly to tap it in. Daly could have had a well deserved hat-trick before the break. Darren Williams crossed the ball in but it went right across goal to Matty Robson. Robson decided to pass instead of shoot but Daly scuffed his shot from just a couple of yards.

After the break Wrexham almost pulled one back after John Brackstone deflected a shot but Dimi did well to get back and make the save. That was that as far as Wexham chances were concerned. Pools defense dealt comfortable with everything.

The second half was a boring affair with few chances being created until Jon Daly got on the end of a John Brackstone free kick to complete his hat-trick. That wasnt the end of Jon Daly's game though. Whilst challenging for a high ball Wrexham defender Evans went staight up with his elbows and caught Daly in the head. Any other ref wouldnt have hesistated to get out the red but it was only a yellow for the big defender. Daly had to leave the pitch and ended up with 5 stiches.

Pools eased to victory and climbed up to 7th in the league.
