We were mullered in every department says Mick

Sunderland manager Mick McCarthty had no complaints about the result. We were mullered in every department he conceded at the post match interview.

Meanwhile Arsene was pleased with a combination of experienced defence, and a very young midfield and attack. He believed that such a sound defence had given the youngsters confidence. The fact that van Persie was the oldest player outside of the defence demonstrates how young the team was.

Quincy, Lupoli and vP played their part in attack. Song and Muamba dominated the midfield. Arsenal's first goal was spectacular. Ebuoe hit a rocket of a shot from 25 yards out - Henry would have been proud of it. Later Lupoli made a great run into the box with his eye firmly on goal, Sunderland defenders panicked and tangled up with him. The referee right up with play pointed to the spot. Robin van Persie nearly broke the net with his spot kick.

Easy Easy sang Arsenal fans - a good and polite reply to Mackems who had been singing you are going to win feck all.

Finally with the match good as over VP loped towards goal and calmly slid the ball beyond and under the goalie. There's only one Arsene Wenger sang the Gooner faithful. Lets hope for a nice home game for the 4th round, I fancy a £5 ticket and my fare paid.
