I don’t get to go to many games and was nervous about this one. But the performance as well as the result was great. The incredible effort , running and pressing was a joy to see. So here are my Rarings:

Raya 8. Very commanding throughout. Excellent distribution. Not responsible for their goal

White. 7 Kept their attackers quiet - loses a point for slow throw-ins and booking

Saliba 7. Generally played very well as usual. Loses a point for cock- up over their goal

Gabriel. 8 excellent at the back and a threat going forward

Zinchenko. 8 excellent first half - really good distribution

Odegaard. 8 must have run 12 kilometres again and he was a constant menace leading the press

Rice. 8 so many last gasp tackles and a wonderful surging run in the second half

Jorginho. 9 MotM - was everywhere and giving leadership instructions to the rest of the team

Saka. 8 took his goal well and tied up two of their defenders throughout the game

Havertz. 7 led the line well and won so many tackles

Martinelli. 8 another really good game- wonderful pressing to get his goal - looked knackered though by the effort

Kiwior. 7 best game for us - made some crucial interventions. Loses a point for not scoring near the end but he’s not an attacker

Trossard 8 Brilliant to win the ball from two Liverpool players and score a solo goal

Nelson. 6 didn’t really get into the game - hard to give him a rating

Arteta 8 contrary to what people said in the match thread his substitutions were spot on. And the game plan.
