Arteta MotM Player Ratings

This was Arteta Ball, this was made by him, a team that worked and almost sweated blood to win the game. Yes Martinelli was the on field MotM.

Yes Saka was not much less than that, yes the defencxe made a few errors, but this was a team effort. No prima donnas, no captain's turning up late, no snickering behind the coaches back, or players who knew best.

I watched Arteta manage the game, take players aside, in an hectic, and sometimes frantic match, to fine tune tactics, to calm nerves. Everytime the team conceded a goal the crowd roared them on, team, crowd and manager as one. It was magnificent, almost Gladatorial, how else can it be when Xhaka so pumped up. Yes he is collecting yellows, but that is the price to pay for such a competitor. Leaving the match I watched his car surrounded by the new generation of Arsenal supporting youth. They adore him - its Arteta who wrote that script, Xhaka believed. When he said he was hoping to be reconciled with the fans it sounded a pipe dream.

To rate this performance invidualy seems churlish, to question individual performances petty. Why cant we just bask in the glory game, remember what Blanchflower said, no? Ive forgotton too, go away and look it up. Me I cant be A*rsed

Great post. Its to celebrate every win and dust off losses. The club know what they are doing, its time to relax and enjoy the show.

Thanks Guys! It was just such an enjoyable spectacle. Why can’t we allow the moment to last.

Since the end of WW1, 1919, when the FA restarted its 4 tier football league, with Arsenal fc in the 1st div, there’s only ever been one club to have never been relegated from Div 1/ EPL.

Let’s keep making history

Klopp can’t resist another pop after Arsenal defeat
....

Klopp was unhappy with some of refereeing decisions made agains his side at Arsenal. And while Klopp is keen to stress that the match is now gone, he remains unhappy at some of Michael Oliver’s decisions.

“The first goal from Arsenal I’m told was pretty sure offside but they didn’t have the pictures,” Klopp said, via the Liverpool Echo.

“We 100% conceded silly goal especially the second one, but between first and second we played a really good game against the team in form in the league.

“It’s difficult to judge that game (Arsenal). We didn’t play our absolute best football, but we played against the team first in the table away, and we lost it in the way we lost it so it’s difficult to judge.

“Right ref decision would be helpful 100%. Now we lost the game.”

In reference to Arsenal’s penalty winner, he concluded: “You watch a game back and I am pretty sure it wasn’t a pen, but it’s not to discuss it and open it up again, it’s just a fact.

I love it when an aggrieved Klopp continuing to have a pop at Arsenal (Sm22)

And mind you, how many times we were also suffered at the hands of so many dodgy ref decisions going against us - especially that disallowed goal at Old Trafford?

Keep on whingeing Mr. Gegenpressing.
Prove your case against Man City this weekend, and not Arsenal who was written off by all pundits, including their dogs, at season start.
