Arsenal Confidence Boost Player Ratings v WBA

Obviously there's far tougher games ahead but it's nice to win and score goals.  Will give the players much needed confidance.

Ramsdale- 7 Good debut.  Looks assured with his feet  and made a few good saves.  He does seem to gamble before the opposition shoot.  Bigger test ahead for him.

Chambers- 5 Sloppy back pass and wasted so many opportunity's to put Pepe through.

Holding-6 Done ok but dives in far too often.

Kolasinic- 6 Done ok but we all know he'll have a brain fart if we play anyone decent.

Tavares- 7 Very raw.  Got forward well but made some bad passes, but he can be a weapon for us with his pace and 1v 1 ability.  Unlike Tierney he can pass and shoot with his right foot.

Xhaka-7 Controlled the game in the first half.  He's the best kong range passer in the squad.

Elneny-6 Extra point for his pass to Pepe.  First time he's made a forward pass!  Needs to be moved on.

Pepe-8 Brilliant movement and deserved his goal.  His cross to Laca was quality as well.

Odegarrd-6 Quiet but his flick to Saka was brilliant.  Needed the minutes before the City game.

Saka-8 Looked much sharper-  Hopefully he's avaiable for the City game .
.
Auba-9 Hatrick and much sharper than last season.  Looks quicker and stronger.  MOTM

Laca- 7 Sharp and great finish.

Martinelli. NA

Ramsdale 7 he’s different than I imagined him to be. He looks more commanding than Leno, he seems bigger, he speaks to the defense much more than Leno and looks at ease with the ball at his feet. Made some saves too! Good first outing. Handy one for him too.

Chambers 6 it’s a big worry if he is our RB for this season. Slow and unathletic. Looks unfit but isn’t, it’s just the way he is.
Holding 6 I thought he struggled with their striker. Needs some games to get back into the swing of things.
Kolasinac 6 thought he looked fine as he was largely untested.
Tavares 6 looks dodgy and all over the place. A sloppy passer. Makes good runs forward though.

Elneny 6 he was fine.
Xhaka 7 some good passing. He always looks good against poor opposition.

Odegaard 8 slotted in really well and pretty much resumed from where he was last season. Definitely helps us tick. Great passing and vision. Very different play to ESR.

Saka 8 he played well. Glad he got this game in as he wasn’t great at the weekend v Chelsea.

Pepe 8 also glad he got this game in. Hopefully this is him up and running.

Auba 9 delighted for him. His movement, finishing and intelligent runs were huge for he.

Laca 7 great to see him straight into the action with a goal and some good link up play. Wonder will he leave or is it just run ours?

AMN - not sure what to make of him anymore. Does he even care these days?

Martineli - not on long enough.

Ramsdale 7 Good 1st outing. Tougher games to come. Still have to see what he like with crosses.
Will Arteta go with him.
Don't think so yet.

Chambers 4 Why is this guy R/Back. Squad player at best.

Holding 4 Why is he still at club.

Kolasinac 4 Please let's get rid.

Tavares 4 Quick and that's about it.
Sloppy with ball & lightweight. Seems to like his ar.se on the grass a lot

Elneny 5 OK. But should he still be here.

Xhaka 7 Did well against them. Bit should do.

Odegaard 4 Should have scored. Didn't look up to speed.

Saka 7 More of the old Saka tonight

Pepe 5 Missing as usual at start . Got into game later. Hopefully he'll improve now.

Auba 9 looked sharp tonight. Hopefully good news for us.

Laca 7 Did well when he came on. Looked sharp.

Brings back memories. Just imagine how many red cards they would get now if Vinny Jones and the gang were playing now.

They would scare/Bully our lot without making tackles 😆

Our players would be like that scene in Gladiator where the slaves are in the tunnel waiting to come out into the coliseum, crying and p.issing their pants. (Sm126)

I wouldn't see too much in this result.
This Arteta's team will always lead us down when we are on an exhilarating high now.

Then, Man City whupped us 5 or 6-0 on this perennial Arsenal roller coaster emotional ride.
