Don't like sacking our managers but eventually a rudderless ship will run aground,this is possibly worse than under Emery.

Emery lost his job when he lost any home in the europa league. We are struggling to score goals but our preformed are better than they were under emery in his last 3-4 games. The EPL is much tougher this year than it was last year. Plus we are getting energetic performances in the Europa league. It's still a situation that Arteta can salvage if he stops the defense from leaking goals like the Kane goal.

We will only score when the opposition has nothing to hold on to. If your are having pbms creating, the worse thing you can do is to a goal down first. Otherwise a Gabriel header might be all you need to stop the rotten run of results.

I sincerely hope that he can sort this out

Whatever happens this season don't think we will get relegated.
Probably finish bottom half though.
Arteta seems a bit flustered last couple of weeks.
And some strange remarks from him.

But in saying that I don't think we should be sacking him.
It's been an awkward year for a rookie manager.
So many average and below average players to get rid of.
And nobody wants them.

He needs them players out so he can eventually get the players he wants in.
January window isn't going to be great because of the coronavirus again.
Hopefully things may get a bit more normal when next summer comes along.
He needs a normal season and windows to get changes done.

It will take time to get back to being a serious challenger for the title.
Some of us may not see that happen. 😁

Arteta is living on one glorious end run last season during August, but comes a cropper from October onwards and is clueless in his tactical formation and managing the player snow.

Then, Arteta holds the bag for signing Willian, a waste of money and poor judgement to sign a demotivated player who wanted to stay in London for a last lucrative contract.

Pepe is way ahead of Willian in offering option on the flanks.

The problem is if you are the youngest manager in the league, you better be some sort of tactical and managerial genius as you lose out on the experience factor, a lot.

Perhaps the Arsenal job came to quick to soon. The team seems to be clueless and everyone is playing with the handbrake on. No one is performing. The buck has to stop at the gaffer. That's the way it is.

If you look at Auba's missed chances there seems to be a lack of conviction in his play, especially his headers. Goals that he used to score at Dortmund and St Etienne before that. As if some sort of joy has been taken away from him.

Our slow, laboured build up play won't suit Auba, and without a player like Giroud we lack the ability to change our game plan. Its like everyone knows its not working but we keep on hacking a mountain with our hammers because they don't seem to be any other way.

Arteta's game plan is to keep on doing the same thing over and over again and hope for the goals to come. This has led to two goals in the whole of November. Get it right on Sunday or we are in relegation zone proper and Taxi for Mikel please

I said all these stuff a month ago about slow build up Pep Guardiola copycat football, sudden reckless crossing football, no slick sharp passing, no one two, no switching position using Willian on the flank, scores of midfield miss passes. Galores of bad football. It's the poor tactical and overall game plan and lack of experience of a rookie manager who doesn't know how to fix things when team isn't performing. I'm not in favor of sacking Arteta but if we get into relegation battle then likely we will have no choice but to let him go and stop experimenting with these kind of nobodies and bring in a proper experienced manager to build the team back. As shano and I loudly said during Arteta's appointment that Carlo Ancelotti was obviously a much safer choice, we might not have won FA cup but would have never get into this mess with him. So bottom line if Arteta has to go then stop fuking up with all these experiments n signup either Max Allegri or Pochettiino in December and then signup few players of their choice in January to deal with it this season.

Easier said than done, Sandy.
We have to convince a new, experienced manager to breath life into the rotting carcass that Afc has become under the ownership of SS. And IMHO, our ownership IS a base reason for where we find ourselves.
Throw out all your planned transfers in and out, because a ‘new broom’ needs to sweep clean.
Attract new transfers without a long-term strategy.
Build a new MF around TP and have only 4 or 5 mths to solve our transition problems and get back to a top6 possession.

Well Arsenal is 2 billion GBP worth club with around 1 billion Kroenke's investment. You need to look into it from that angle, yes he's stingy and have little apatite of putting his own money but every investor understands the implications of huge loss that can come with procrastinating with decisions. If relegation is on the table Stan Kroenke will surely take the call and I don't think there is anyone at the club would be able to convince him starting another experiment now. So I believe if situation warrants he will act decisively and that's why I think signing up a top experienced manager is a possibility.

2-billion GBP was its peak value when the club was profitably.

He will be lucky to get even 1-billion now with projected 100-mil to 150-mil losses for the foreseeable future with lockdown and a mediocre team that is losing advertisers and sponsors fast.

Ceballos is a pale shadow of the player he was last season.

Baffling that Auba was left out to dry on the left, isolated and can't even receive sufficient balls to make at least 5 attempts at goal per game.

Why is it that Bellerin is always caught out of position and simply has no engine to track back?

You only to have a look at the team that played in August with a disciplined 3-4-3, knew their limitation, low block defence and hit opponents on counter-attack plays.

Compare to October & November where Arteta had vision of grandeur that HIS team can play 4-3-3 with the best in premier league, never fielding the same team in 2 consecutive games.

That is the sign of a desperate drowning manager grabbing at his straw-men to help him afloat.
Fixed template football with him micro-managing the players on the pitch like "Alice in Wonderland" moving players on the pitch like chess pieces.

I sense there is a growing gap between Arteta and the dressing room.
Players may be getting tired of his endless micro-management during game and didn't allow them to develop their understanding and their football brain to change plays to suit the every-changing situation on the pitch ... instead of playing like robots with fixed algorithms:
- When Dani goes left, press 1.
- When Dani goes right, press 2.
- When Dani goes centre, press 3.
- When Dani runs diagonally left and feign right , "press 1. No! Press 2. No! No! Press 1! press 1, 2! Press 1, 2! ... (robot caught in a recurring loop, with ball passed to space when Dani decided to standstill.)

This is the frustration that players are facing with Arteta's template football with no initiative encouraged else you get a earful from touchline "Dani! I told you to go left! Left1 Left! ..."

Some of that is true. I dont think Ceballos is that bad, just doesnt get to play same role enough.
Yep Xhaka is Wenger's love child and Emery's disaster but then he shouldnt play him.

Mikel Arteta is facing a deepening Arsenal crisis because of a toxic dressing room.


Arsenal are determined to stick with under-pressure Arteta and give him time to turn the club’s fortunes around with the majority of players still onside.

But the backdrop is that there are factions within the squad which is making it difficult for Arteta to manage and is being seen as one of the reasons for the slump in form which has left Arsenal in fear of relegation trouble.

Arsenal have a large group of players, and some are unhappy at not playing with the likes of Mesut Ozil and Sokratis, who are big characters and personalities but were not even included in the Premier League and Europa League squads.

Ozil has been publicly supportive on social media but the club’s biggest star and earner is not even eligible to play, while injuries to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Thomas Partey have left the club facing major issues on and off the pitch.

Arsenal players - such as Hector Bellerin, Kieran Tierney and David Luiz - have all spoken out publicly in support of Arteta but it is more about the dynamic within the dressing room.

That is seen as one of the key issues because the dressing room has become difficult to manage while there are also glaring gaps in the squad.

They are almost certain to have a big clearout next summer when the likes of Ozil, Sokratis and Shkodran Mustafi become free agents.

But the Arsenal hierarchy are ready to back Arteta in January and are looking to add a creative midfield player even if it is a loan signing rather than another big deal.

Reports in Spain have linked Real Madrid ’s playmaker Isco for a loan move.

Arsenal always felt it would be a big job for Arteta to turn the club around and, less than a week after technical director Edu offered public support, that has not changed - even if their league position could get worse over Christmas.
