I think most of us expected another 8-2 after we saw the teams but that could've been a lot, lot worse. We almost came away with a point against a much better side, and the youngsters who came in didn't look out of place. Really dead game though.
Ospina - 6. Had nothing to do really but thought he could've done better on United's winner.
Bellerin - 7. Okay but crossing let him down in the first half. +1 for stopping Alexis scoring. Chambers - 8. Quality. Lots of winners. Mavropanos - 8. Didn't look out of place at all. Great find. MotM for such an incredibly good debut at a hard ground. Kolasinac - 5. Quality on the ball wasn't there.
Xhaka - 5. First half was shocking. Second half was a bit better. Poor on United's first goal, excellent on our goal. Maitland-Niles - 7. Slow start but grew into the game. Combative with some great touches.
Mkhitaryan - 7. Worked hard, good on the ball, scored. Glad to have him back. Iwobi - 6. Okay but not particularly effective. Nelson - 6. Okay. Showed some quality but again, wasn't particularly effective. Needs to offer more.
Aubameyang - 6. Okay.
Subs:
Welbeck - 6. Lively. Monreal - 6. Better than Kolasinac. Willock - 5. Got stuck in.
Mavropanos vs Man United
32 touches 32 passes (91.4% accuracy) 4 clearances 3 interceptions 2 blocks 2 duels won 1 dribble won
Frustrating because I thought we played very well. Great movement and we were regularly finding the space with our passing. Just weren't at it up front and just generally can't defend as a unit.
Says our only hope is to score a couple against Athletico as they will certainly score.
I think once Mikky went off our limitations began to show more

Arteta on his team's first away victory at a club above them in the Premiership since September 2015 at Leicester.
I think Mavropanos and Maitland-Niles have given us reason to be optimistic for the future again.
As I said during the game, big issue I saw during the first half was the defence, obviously quite cautious, were way too deep, and we lacked runners into the opposition box (which led to a few times where we were looking to cross and had no one to aim for).
Spoke a few weeks ago about our style of play needing centre backs who are monsters physically so they don't lose foot faces, duels, 50-50s, etc, and said I thought Mavropanos was the only one of our current centre backs who fit that profile.
Early days after one game but looking a decent shout.
Like in the U23 games I've seen, he also looked comfortable as the left-sided centre back.
He is not much different in most games except that he can score. I had asked when he was signed that ww can't expect miracles cause he goes missing on games until he scores
