Regular poster to this on line site De Times has been challenged by many readers to give away the secrets of his betting success. So without further ado here is his first tipster column.
The odds on many betting platforms are similar so for the purpose of this predictions, the odds are from 1960bet.com (This is not a promotion for 1960bet.com. Arsenal Times is not reponsible for any bets made, won or lost, or the credibility of any betting company and will not be liable for any losses. This is purely for fun and discussion).
There are some very tricky games in the premier league this weekend, I don't see any match I can actually put my money on. 1.20 odds for Chelsea to beat Newcastle is too small compared to the risk, and so is the 1.45 odds for Arsenal to beat Stoke. This is the type of weekend I completely avoid premier league games.
For those who can't resist the temptation of playing a Premier League match, then 1.85 odds for a ManCity win away to Everton is not a bad bet. And 2.0 odds for Spurs to win away to Crystal Palace is also not a bad bet. Both of These matches can end 1-2 or 0-1 or 1-1, but predicting a scoreline is for me a stupid gamble. . Move to Scotland and there is one match every betting person will like to play, St. Mirren Vs Aberdeen. The odds for an Aberdeen win has dropped from 1.70 to 1.50 but it's still basically a free odd for everyone. A one goal handicap win for Aberdeen is 2.50, which to me is a good bet also. It's safer though to just play an Aberdeen away win and get half of your stake. Still in Scotland, a win for Rangers away to Alloa at 1.30 is a good bet. Hearts have not lost a game this season, and have drawn only 3. An odd of 1.50 for an away win at Dumbarton, a team that had lost 9 times already in the league this season is a good bet.
In the Welsh league, TNS is the Bayern Munich of that league, they win anything on their way, especially when it's not Airbus of course. Give Prestatyn one goal and TNS will still win at 1.45, but it's safer to take a free 1.16 odd on a simple TNS away win. TNS first half win is also at 1.45 odd, safer option than our win versus Stoke. . PSG is third on their table, 3 points behind leaders Marseil. I'm sure they must be feeling embarrassed not to be topping the table by this time, and away to a team like Bastia, 19th on the table, is a good opportunity to not let 3 points slip away. The odd is 1.45 for a PSG away win, a lot safer than our home win versus Stoke. . In Spain, Valencia has been given 2.60 odds to win Celta Vigo away. Valencia beat Madrid last week, and Celta Vigo has been in a terrible form, losing their last 6 league matches. A Valencia away win or draw is 1.45, a more safer option considering that mid-table teams are not to be trusted completely. Still in the Spanish league, I don't think Barcelona will be able to beat Athletico Madrid tomorrow. 2.50 odds for an Athletico madrid away win or draw is a very good bet. A two goals handicap for Athletico Madrid at an odd of 1.55 is a lot more safer option. . Hibernians away win in the Maltese league is more or less a free odd at 1.18. Valetta away win at 1.30 is a good bet too. . I placed an accumulator bet consisting of: Hearts away win. Hibernians away win. TNS away win. Aberdeen away win. PSG away win. Valencia away win or draw. Athletico madrid 2 goals handicap win. My accumulated odd is 10.03. At a stake of 5000 naira (about 20 pounds), my potential win is 55, 000 naira (about 200 pounds).
I will be interested to hear how the accumalator goes

PSG lost to Bastia, a team 19th on the table. If it were Arsenal now, the moaners will go on all day talking about how rubbish we are and demanding that they sack the manager. But it's football, the reason it's an interesting sport is that it's very unpredictable.

Arsene wenger has done an absolutely masterful job within the constraints he has... Every single year, he has outperformed our spending every single year he has been manager. It is extraordinary. -Gazides.
Didn't Squillaci go to Bastia? No doubt it was Wenger's doing in nurturing his outstanding talents at centre half that was the catalyst to Bastia beating PSG, eh DeTimes?

very true De Times, but one thing is predictable, Arsenal wont be winning league this year

@Nis, Marseile lost yesterday to Montpellier, but that's not really a shock, is it? PSG losing 4-2 to Bastia is the funny one, PSG has been really poor this season.
.
@Padre, Arsenal will challenge for the league this season. Ozil, Koscielny, Debuchy, Walcott, and Giroud are all like new signings.

The league has gone de Times but it will be a very exciting Wenger Trophy this season

There is nothing exciting about fourth place, Wenger is too consistent not to be up there. But I think we're going to go on a run which will see us really challenge for the league.

If the run ever starts it will end at Man City.
How is the accumulator going?

I like the fact De Times took the time to go through his thought process when choosing his selections. I know a lot of people who place bets and don't analyse the form.
Sandy, PSG lost yesterday, and Athletico Madrid lost by more than one goal, so there goes the accumulator. Those two games was clearly the risk in the bet, and something told me, but I was just stubborn. If I'd placed more than one bet, I probably would've won today, but that's how it goes. The new week presents another opportunity, hope to be more lucky by then.
And cheers to the guys who showed me love and appreciated my effort.
