ENGLAND'S TRY-SCORING LIONS SINCE 1962

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, being a bit of an anorak on such matters, I browsed through the archives to find out which English rugby warriors had recorded tries in British Lions test matches over
the last fifty years. I have also compiled amongst the enclosed list the handful of individuals who also contributed drop goals too. [I have omitted those who converted penalties and conversions, but do
feel free to scan through the history books to get the information on that too.]

Of course let us not be naive enough to think that just because an individual happened to be in the right place at the right time to score a try that he played well. Moreover, there are many English Lions players not mentioned here who probably played very well on various occasions but who just didn't have the good fortune to be on the end of a try. This after all is a record of those who grabbed a bit of glory for themselves and for British rugby. Right then, here we go. Each person underneath scored one try, unless otherwise stated.

1st test: Tom Croft (2 tries); the Lions lost 26-21
