The ING Renault F1 Team today officially launched its 2009 season as it revealed the brand new Renault F1 R29 and it’s new colors today in Portugal.

First I thought uuuhhh! I don't like! But more pictures I see more I like the new design. Now I see I must get to like red. 
But luckily the main colors stayed. Now I'm only interested how R29 will run...

LOL, Renault give themselves the worst colours every year! I just got used to last years and they come up with this. I is making me ill at the moment, but I will get used to it.
Pity that red splash with the white type looks like a blimmin Toyota add! WTF is with that?

Now we've seen the car, lets see how its runs, but the bad news is the weather in Portugal is very wet, so it will be limited runing...lets hope for a clear day tomorrow.

yesss...
Must say its a terrible looking car
i expected it other way but is a difficult color combination
very "spanish"...but if its fast we will get used to it
the good thing is that is totally different to the rest
the front seems that will be able to canalize the air better
to the floor than the rests..lets see how long before the copy it

The car has no butt at all. All the bulk seems to be up front. Weird looking thing!
Interesting to see the Renault front wing endplates really channeling the air inwards. Look at the new Williams, exact opposite. Channels the air out!
Like to get the experts opinions on that. And no, nobody here counts as an expert.

great to see the car. i wonder whether alonso will have a litttle red stripe on the front of the car, like usual to tell the difference between him and nelson

Is anyone else struck by how -simple- the nosecone and front wing look (the outboard sections, too)? Like folded paper - hardly as if they've been designed at all.
Can anyone who knows aero tell if that's a sign of lack of development, or if there could be a legitimate reason for it? I can't tell, I'm, just following the pattern of the past, where the fastest cars were the messiest, most complicated shapes.

I forgot to say, though, that the back end looks really tightly packaged, and that was one of the distinctive features of the R25 & R26 compared with other cars of the time. They've extended the bodywork right out over the rear suspension as well; I don't remember seeing that before - is that usual now?
Pat is playing down how much extra power we'll have though. But we've got Alonso, and if the car is half way decent, like the second half of '07, we're in for a treat.

I assume though, that all the "orange" stripe is part of ING's space on the car, and all the "red" is Total's. Whereas yellow & black are Renault. So -I think- the team's excuse is, they get more money for doing it their way.
I'm only guessing, mind.

I like the new livery, its bright and racey...
I just dont like that nose, but that could change before March and even throughout the season. But as long as it works and its fast.

iv been looking at the new paint work for some time now and i quite like it, its just the extended engine cover and the nose that are a bit ugly
