Luck Must Change

Paynter

Once again we did enough to win - but didn't. A combination of bad set piece defending and a poor decision from a linesman cost us dear. By comparison Carlisle showed you need that but of luck on your side if you are to get an unbeaten run going ...

Losing 3-2 was bad enough but to be denied a late goal when Alessandra's ball to Billy Paynter was judged to be out rubbed salt in the wound. The distant linesman was the only one who thought the ball had gone out.

Having said that we should have done a lot better when Carlisle went down to 10 men when Shaun Miller was sent off after 56 minutes.

They'd gone ahead through Jabo Ibehre in the first half . After Miller was red carded Alessandra put Pools level only for home full-back Danny Grainger to send in a 25 yard scorcher.

Back came Pools with Padraig Amond again equaliser only for Michael  Raynes to be allowed a soft header right at the end.

No need to panic as the league is very tight but a string of home wins would be nice.
