Of all the trips to face on the last day of the season the Football League computer had to choose Plymouth. Really tough on lots of Poolies who would have donned their Stormtrooper fancy dress if only they could have afforded the time and the money to make the trip ..

Fortunately, the team won't need the vocal backing as we are nice and comfy in the middle of the table and that's a massive relief after the travails of the middle part of teh campaign.

Craig Hignett is already planning for next season and he has made some ruthless decisions.

Out go Scott Fenwick, Scott Harrison, and fellow centre-half, Harry Worley. Harrison is a surprise a she was a stand-out player earlier this season and at an age where he can only get better. Okay, we seem to do better with experienced defenders but somebody is going to get the benefit of his hard work and talent.

The futures of Rakish Bingham, Michael Duckworth, Dan Jones, Rob Jones and Michael Woods have yet to be agreed.
