Losing 2-1 to a side which hadn't won for eight games wasn't in the script. But it happenened and it now means the next two home games at the Vic are vital ...

Two defensive lapses cost us. Allowing a Stevenage sub  to run unchallenged across the face of the box was inviting a cool finish into the top corner, and allowing the same player to be unmarked and miskick his goal from just a  few yards out was equally unforgiveable.

There was plenty opf effort, if not passion, from Pools with Luke James lively and Billy Paynter looking the only player cool enough to score - which he did.

But there were to many crosses coming in from their right wing. Not enough bite in midfield where Magnay loooked lonely and, once again, we looked like stangers.

This team has three or four changes every week. It needs a settled side, and it needs better coaching because if there is a game plan it's a mystery to everyone in the crowd -  and most of the players,

The talent is there, the will to win is pretty much there. Over to you Moore and Collins - get it organised before it's too late.
