This was the game we had to win ... and it was thirteenth time lucky. Goes from Scott Fenwick and Rakish Bingham sealed the win over Cheltenham and it should have been more .. . 

But who cares . The gap between Pools and safety is now in single figures and the overall perfomance was light years ahead of what we have been serving up.

Ronnie Moore has said we had more shots in the first ten minutes at a windy Vic than we had in all the previous games under his charge.

Certrainly there was committment and effort there, and the new boys made a big difference in terms of quality and confidence on the ball.

Scott Fenwick's was a typical poacher's tap in, which will do him a world of good as he comes to terms with the professional game.

This was Bingham's first game at the Vic and you could see why Mansfield's supporters can't understand why he has been allowed to go out on loan.

The ball was cleared to him from a Cheltenham corner and he played a slick one-two with the excellent Michael Woods before slotting the ball into the corner of the net.

We have two massive away games up. The Tranmere game is a six pointer and Shrewsbury will be a tough one as well. If we play like we did on Saturday there is every hope we can earn at least three points from those trips.
