A few weeks ago the news that we are to get yet another Boro loanee would have been met with groans along the length of York Road.Yet such is opur plkight any new face now brings a ray of hope ...

Twenty one year old David Atkinson plays either in defence or midfield, and is said to be a big strong unit who has been unlucky with injuries.

He is in the squad to face Pompey at the Vic and good luck to him.

Another Boro loanee looks likely to return. Charlie Wyke was showing good form until he was concussed at Northampton.

We certainly need someone who can not only score goals, but who can create some openings in a Pompey defence which has helped them get 14 points so far this campaign.

A scruffy 1-0 would do us.

Pools: Flinders, Duckworth, Bates, Harrison, Austin, Brobbel, Miller, Walker, Compton, Franks, Wyke.

Subs: Woodman, Holden, Collins, Richards, Woods, Atkinson, Harewood.
