Time To Stop The Rot

After three defeats at home we desperately need to start getting some points if the season is not to end in a downward spiral ..

A few weeks ago we were looking to get in the play-offs but now our goal is to finish in the top half.

And a few weeks ago the trip to struggling Pompey would have looked like an excellent chance for three points.

Instead, the home side are struggling for football league survival, and after sacking former Pools favourite Richie Barker they've installed long term servant Andy Awford as caretaker manager.

Portsmouth are seven places but only four points behind Pools, and you can guarantee they will be giving this game everything they've got. We will have to do the same as well as getting the ball down and playing the football we showed for the first hour against Mansfield.

Hopefully Marelon Harewood will be back as he eas a massive miss in the dreadfully boring defeat by Cheltenham last week.
