There may not have been any goals and it may haveeb perishinbg but the crowd went home happy after high flying Scunthjorpe held Pools to a goalless draw ..

The well drilled visitors hardly tested Scott Flinders thanks, in part, to a useful combination of Collins and Burgess at the heart of the Pools defence. Jack Baldwin will be a big miss but good luck to him at Peterborough.

With Harewood on the bench as an "impact sub" Pools got the ball down and played some neat football with Holden having one of his best games for the club, and Willaims and Barmby showing class and potential.

Poos had the  better of the chances with the best falling  to Luke James just after Hareweood had come on. A Compton cross went over the head of big Marlon giving James only a split second to react and he was really unlucky to see his effort go just wide.
