Former Villa striker Marelon Harewood has signed for Pools and is one of three players Colin Cooper is said to be targetting as he tries to get 2014 back on track ..

Thirty four year old Harewood is, as they say, "much travelled" and was released by Bristol City two weeks ago so he has something to prove.

It could hardly have been a worse start losing both home games by three goals to nil.

We had the better of the first half against Rochdale, but as soon as they scored in the second you felt that was it. If you don't score goals you won't win  games - simples.

Rochdale scored through George Donnelly, Peter Cavanagh and Graham Cummins and showed us how to go about getting promotion.

Cooper is also said to be interested in a loan deal for Boro forward Luke Williams. We may be too reliant on Cooper's old club but in this case we just need something fresh.
