Spike and Super Gord grab one each to keep the play off dream alive. Next up is Swansea (h). As a wise woman once said "Failure, the possibilities do not exist" Around 1200 Poolies made the relatively short journey to already relegated Halifax and witnessed an efficient albeit workmanlike performance from an unchanged Pools side.

In an atmosphere reminicient of a pre season friendly Halifax kicked off playing towards the Hartlepool contingent.

That was the possibly the most pressure Halifax exerted during the "match" Halifax showed why they had been relegated with Pools commanding the match without even getting up a head of steam. Gordon Watson beautifull strike of Paul Smith's cross put the visitors 1 up and Spike doubled the lead with a lovely header in the second half.

As a lifelong Poolie, it's not very often that I feel as though a defeat is impossible. I got that feeling after a few minutes yesterday.

A mention of respect or the few hundred Halifax supporters who attended the game despite already being relegated and the match being billed as run out for the fringe players.

All Hartlepool supporters know that feeling of despair, but have we had it that bad?

Next up Swansea at the Vic next week. All the calculations and conjecture will come to nought if we don't do our bit. We simply must win our last two games to maintain our outside chance. I never thought I'd say it but
