A convincing win for Pools against Accrington all but guarentees promotion for Danny Wilsons men. Pools only need one point from the remaining games to guarentee a return to League 1

Hartlepool are only one point away from promotion after beating Stanley at the Vic. It took 2 penlties though before the deadlock was broken against a well organised Accrington. Ritchie Barker missed his first penalty in the first half when he placed the ball wide but his second penalty almost broke the net as he fired it into the bottom corner.

Hartlepool were the only side who were going to win the game and it was only Pools who had any real chances of scoring. James Brown hit the bar twice, Gary Liddle had a cetain goal blocked, Barker had a shot superbly saved, Williams came close and even Porter came close on his first game back

Willie Boland started for the first time at home since his return to injury had a certainly was back at his best. His solid performance not only provided the perfect base for attacks it also allowed Liddle to push forward and make the usual menace of himself

Joel Porter came on with about 10 minutes left to a heros welcome and he almost scored when he broke into the box but was superbly tackled.

One of the strangest moments of the match was Mangans red card after 70 minutes. Accrington had just gone 1-0 down and they were chasing the game so what is the commen sense thing for a centre foward to do...
...you guessed it - kick a player in front of the ref. It was probably the easiest decision the ref had to make all game

The full time whistle was followed by a mixture a cheers and sighs of relief. The home support waited for the  results to come through and when the news of MK Frachise's loss came through the stand went into raptures
