Hartlepools unbeaten run is now 20 games and Pools remain top of the league but we were made to sweat it out as Pools left it until the 93rd minute to get the goal needed to draw the game 1-1

Hartlepool extended their unbeaten run to 20 games but they left it late as it took 93 minutes for Pools to get their goal.

Hartlepool went behind on 7 minutes after a shot by Paul Green's shot deflected into the bottom corner of the net. Despite going behind to a very good Lincoln side Pools did not let their head drop and backed by a crowd of almost 7 000.

Hartlepool did get forward and E Williams and James Brown both had chances. Hartlepools closest effort of the first half came from a long distance effort from Andy Monkhouse.

The first half was very disapointing by Pools and the players seemed to be second best in every position and without doubt Wilson will have hd some strong words at half time. During the first half Hartlepool were forced to make a change as Tony Sweeney went off injured and was replaced by Lee Bullock

The second half was much better by Pools and Pools could easily have won the game as Pools had the better of the chances. James Brown went close early on when James Brown latched onto a defensive mistake and ran into the box - all he had to do was square the ball to Williams and it was 1-1 but he decided to shot and it went wide of the far post.

Richie Barker came very close on two occasions. He first got on the end of a Micky Barron cross but he headed over and then he headed just wide from an Ali Gibb cross.

Hartlepool were throwing everyone forward and almost paid the price when Jamie Forrester ran through but he lobbed his shot over Dimi and onto the top of the crossbar.

Lee Bullock then had a header cleared off the line with some players and fans thinking it had gone in. Bullock rose highest to get his head to a Ritchie Humphreys corner but despite the shouts for a goal the officials said no and play went on.

Hartlepool finally got the breakthrough on 93 minutes. The long throw by Ritchie Humphreys into a crowd of players resulted in the ref giving a penalty for handball. The Licnoln players protested but Richie Barker made no mistake from the spot as he smacked the ball down the middle to send to Pools fans into raptures.

Hartlepools lead at the top has been cut to 3 points after Walsall won but Pools will be happy just to get the point and maintain the unbeaten run
