Danny Wilson will leave the National Hockey Arena dissapointed after his side missed yet another penalty. Both sides had numerous chances and a draw was probably a fair result

Pools left the National Hockey Stadium rueing another penalty miss taking the season total to 4 missed penalties and 3 different takers all missing from the spot.

Pools started the better side, some good football in the midfield particularly with new boy Ali Gibb causing problems with his pace on the wing. There were plenty chances in the opening half but Pools almost got the breakthrough from the spot. Some good play between Boland and Robson resulted in Robson being brought to the ground just inside the box. James Brown stepped up but the Dons keeper did well to save the spot kick and Jon Daly's rebound.

Pools created several other chances and both Matty Robson and Gary Liddle came close. The MK Dons did very well and almost took the lead though Scott Taylor and JP McGovern.

After an entertaining first both neither team could break the deadlock. The second hlf started off very well for Hartlepool with Tony Sweeney coming close after a good through pass from James Brown. Matty Robson came close but his curled effort went just wide of the target and Gary Liddle had a shot from distance easily saved by the goalkeeper.

MK Dons then scared Danny Wilsons men with some good play of their own. JP McGovern had a shot from the right well saved by Dimi and Clive Platt had a shot headed off the line by Willie Boland. MK Dons came closest to winning the game late on. A ball over the top found Platt who has beaten the defense but his shot was smashed off the crossbar and his headed rebound went over the cross bar.

Platt caused problems all afternoon and Dimi produced 2 fantastic saves from point blank range to keep the scores level.

Overall a dissapointing afternoon but it is a point against a side that has started very well. Danny Wilson will now be looking to Tuesday's game against Mansfield
