Only 1 800 people turned up at Moss Road and those that stayed away didnt miss much. The first half was a dull affair but the second half saw both teams create chances but neither team could score. 1 point gained or 2 points lost? Many people will be relieved to finally get a point on the board but most people would have been expecting all 3 points from this fixture. The opening 45 minutes was a dull affair with not much attacking and defensive players dominating the game. The best chance of the first half fell to Macclesfields Matty Mc Neill but his shot was draged wide of the post. Pools best chance of the first half came to Gavin Strachan after Joel Porter was brought down. Strachans free kick beat the wall and goalkeeper but Swailes was there to clear the ball for a corner. The second half was more lively and Tony Sweeney came very close just after the break. Macclesfield replied with plenty of attacks of their own but Pools defence were more than a match with a great display by Ben Clarke and Micky Nelson. And if macclesfield thought Nelson and Clark were tough to beat Dimi was a completely different challenge. The big Greek stopper made a string of impressive saves to keep the scores level. Pools did come back into the game and Proctor wasted an excellenmt chance after being fed through by Darren Williams he took to long and Swailes made a crucial tackle to save the day for Macclesfield. The end of the game was full of action as both teams went hell for leather to get the winning goal. Macclesfield won a free kick on the edge of the Pools box but couldnt get it passed the wall. The Pools had one last chance through Proctor to win it but he dragged his shot wide of the post. Overall it was a dull game that did pick uop a bit in the second half. Not much atmosphere as only 1 800 people were in the ground. Pools man of the match was by far Micky Nelson who dominated the defence
