Ratings v Nottingham Forest

It was all there for us, an opportunity to go 9 points above City and Villa. A frustrating performance where we had enough opportunities to take the 3 points.

No standout performances. MOTM probably between Saliba and White but it's a low bar. I feel the same as I did after the Semi Final, empty and disappointed.

Raya 6 - Didn't have much to do. Nice to get a clean sheet

White 6 - One brilliant cross in the first half which was almost converted by Gyokeres and Rice.

Saliba 6 - No dramas

Gabriel 6 - I prefer him attacking the corners, not stood in their 6 yeard box

Timeber 5 - Just play MLS at left back. Timber does not look comfortable there. His performance is on Artets

Zubimendi 5 - Crossed in the first half when we could have shot.

Rice 5 - Put in some decent deliveries from dead ball situations. You need more from an 8

Odegaard 4 - Righly taken off. A sterile performance from the captain

Madueke 5 - To quote Gattuso. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's sh.it! Mainly sh.it today.

Gyokeres 4 - Didn't get any service. We see a lot of these performances from him. Not entirely his fault today.

Martinelli 4 - Missed a chance I'd expect any left winger to score.

Subs

Trossard 4 - Too ponderous. Didn't add anything

Saka 6 - Almost scored with a header

Merino 6 - Should've scored with a header

Jesus 5 - Nope, nada, nothing, zilch!

Eze n/a - Not on for long

Yes a lot of poor performances today.

Iโ€™m done rating our players. Only the manager gets rated from now on. Today hey gets a 3. He set up for a draw or a 1-0 and he got his draw, so he gets some points. We should have scored at least 1, but they could have scored as well

But to have a chance like that and to set up so negatively is terrible. I canโ€™t support that.

The only thing I can think is maybe he has the team play negative and sit back too much so that no one over exerts themselves and risks injury. If itโ€™s all part of some master plan and we win the league Iโ€™ll revise every rating to a 10

3 - Mikel Arteta - Paralyzed on the bench and mind simply went blank on how to change tactics to score at least a goal. Bluntly, this game exposed him as a fraud and sold us a pig in a poke as having the strongest squad in EPL.

Very upset, bitter and emotional to do a Player Rating now.

Forest had 6 shot attempts with 0 shots on target. No they were not going to score against Arsenal today. But I agree that Arsenal should have scored at least 1 goal. Inexplicable how Martinelli can miss that chance which was practically an open goal for him as the Forest keeper was diving the in the other direction.

Iโ€™m shocked at all the people posting on other threads trying to spin this into some sort of perspective about how tough it is to play forest away. If itโ€™s tough to play the 17th placed team away then does that mean the 16 above them away youโ€™re also expecting us to struggle? The standards need to be so much higher in terms of expectations we have of our club at this point.

Very deflating performance. We've just had the presidential elections and as is usual nowadays, the internet was cut off nationwide. Now that the internet is back on I don't even want to read up on or watch anything Arsenal, not even the win over Chelsea.

Last season whenever Liverpool slipped up we didn't capitalise to close the gap. Now it's the other way around, we cant kill this title race. Hopefully Everton can hold Aston Villa to make it an acceptable weekend.

Re ratings I give Odegaard a 2. For the first time I agreed with the statement, it's like playing with 10 men.

Arteta gets a 1 for not starting our best attacking player, unless Saka had a knock I was unable to read about. If not, Arteta's lucky to get a 1.

One successful entry pass in the final third.

Elliot Anderson put ร˜degaard on his a$$ 3 times. I want to see Merino there for away games

Imagine Casmiro or Ugarte or even Mount doing the numbers on Odegaard leaving him, overpowered physically and chasing shadows and gesticulating with his arms on the pitch.

WTF Arteta still trust Odegaard when his form had been bad for a few games now ... physically weak and lost virtually all duels.

We should be able to beat Forest, of course we should. But it's not always as simple as saying they're 17th in the table so we should win hands down. There are always different variables to take into consideration for every game. The obvious one is this instance is it was away at a Sean Dyche team.

He sets them up against us deeper than the Titanic sits these days. They're never easy games and there's very little room in behind for maneuver and his sides always tend to defend really well. It's never pretty either, so it sometimes enhances how 'bad' we have played on the day.

In Boxing people always scratch their head when a world level Boxer with power can't stop a much lesser opponent. But when that opponent fights completely in a shell defensively and doesn't come to win, it's very hard to break them down and look good against them. Bit like AJ and that scrub youtuber recently. This is the footballing comparison, albeit at least AJ thankfully caught up with the road runner on that occasion.
