A game between two sides that are nowhere near where they think they should be. I thought we looked the better side in quite an open first half. United began to take control at the start of the second half, but we scored via a big deflection, grew in confidence and were the better side thereafter. Our second goal was great though. It was nice seeing us actually get to the byline and whip a cross in nice and early, instead of all of our usual arsing about. Wenger's first win over Mourinho in the league, and a win over United is always nice, whatever the circumstance.
Cech - 7. Two good saves off Martial and Rooney. Little to do otherwise.
Holding - 6. His least assured performance so far. Almost cost us a goal with a sloppy pass in the first half.
Koscielny - 7. Solid.
Monreal - 7. Solid.
Oxlade-Chamberlain - 7. Still looking good in the RWB role. Excellent cross for Welbeck's goal.
Xhaka - 7. Strong display before going off (nice actually seeing him being used correctly!). Opened the scoring via a huge deflection.
Ramsey - 7. Industrious. Made some excellent runs off the ball. Came close to scoring early on.
Gibbs - 6. Always made himself a good option up and down the left, but ultimately his delivery was poor.
Ozil - 6. Not a great first half but the second half was an improvement.
Welbeck - 7. Scored a strong header against his former club. Pretty quiet otherwise.
Alexis - 5. Struggled to make an impact. Looks like he only wants to play "his" game to be honest.
Subs:
Coquelin - 5. Looked bright when he came on.
Giroud - N/A. No impact.
Bellerin - N/A. No impact.
