Chesterfield let the performance slip terribly as the Spireites let Luton play. The performances that we have seen very much at Saltergate throughout the seasons like the Mansfield 2-0 beating earlier in August and then the demolition job at home against Northampton. It's as if totally different sides play because when we're good we're really good but when we're shocking we're dier! How can a team totally outplay and outclass teams and then next game just don't bother and get beaten easily by average teams?

Well it's a question I often have to ask myself supporting Chesterfield. Dave Rushbury has in a statement denied reports of him not getting on with Jamie Burt. Rushbury said that his relationship with Burt is fine. That squashed rumours on that account but the question still remains why doesn't he play Burt in the first eleven?

Chesterfield were the visitors when they took on Luton as they slumped to a 3-0 defeat at home to the Hatters. People who went to watch the game said it was a performance similiar to the one at home against Swindon earlier on in the season. What furiates me the most is the simple fact that Chesterfield are quite a decent team, so what if we don't have any big names in the squad, does that really matter? We have the likes of Gareth Davies, Chris Brandon and Mark Hudson who are future stars of the future, you mark my words! When everyone in the team gives 100% then Chesterfield could beat any team on their day, no matter who they are. We might even have a chance against top teams like Cardiff if everyone gave it their all. The only problem with Cardiff is that I think that because they have a few big names that our team can't beat them and that's wrong. Once they stop thinking this then we could get out there and give them a real game of football and something to be proud of!

Eearlier today we took on Crewe away who had previously just thrashed Mansfield 5-1! Many feared that they would carry on where they left off against the Stags and have a field day against us. Obviously they hadn't read the script!

Chesterfield maintained a clean sheet thanks to Muggleton and held on for a 0-0 draw which is a much deserved and appreciated point for the Spireites!

The Spireites look to build on the solid performance they showed today when they entertain Wigan on Saturday at Saltergate!
