Reaction from Ipswich Town manger Joe Royle following Towns 2-0 win against Leeds United at Elland Road earlier today.
Royle: “With the win today, that has made it an outstanding start for us and I mean outstanding.
“With the injuries that we have had and five senior players out at one stage, the players deserve great credit to keep going and have the points tally we've got now.
“We are getting stronger with the injured players slowly coming back and although luck was perhaps with us today, we deserve some.
“I did give the players a blasting at half-tine. Our front players weren't giving us anything, we weren't keeping the ball in the midfield and we were defending too deep.
“The players had to dig in after the break and they did just that and it was two terrific goals from Sam that won us the game.
“He has taken some personal criticism so I'm pleased for Sam that he got the goals. He has had to play up front on his own in some of our games but he has shown that when he gets a sight of goal, he can put the ball in the net.
“I'm a big fan of the referee's but I didn't think we got one decision today, I couldn't see what was wrong with Bam Bam's goal and we should have had two penalties as well.”
