Royle’s Reaction: QPR

Reaction from Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle following Towns 2-1 defeat against Queens Park Rangers tonight.

Royle: “We were disappointing in the first-half and didn't match them physically, there were two fouls in the lead up to their second goal so we can have complaints about that but not about being behind at half-time and we will have to improve on that.

“But there were positives to be taken out of our display in the second-half and we could have got something out of the game in the end.

“Sito was excellent, especially as he's not match fit and Jaime Peters showed signs of what he can do. He's got terrific pace and gave them problems and again, he's not 100 per cent yet.

“Mark (Fish) has to take credit for playing when he's short on match fitness but it was patently clear that he wasn't at the level of fitness needed in the Championship so we switched Fabian Wilnis to the middle of the defence.”
