On a Saturday that the clouds were grey

Town had West Bromwich Albion to play

Price back in Town colours With 4 men to help

But Bruce, Naylor, De Vos and Harding looked dodgy I felt,

The midfield of Noble, Walton, Legwinski and Currie

Also gave me fair reason to worry

As they came out of energy they lacked

But so too did Lee and Clarke in attack

On the bench sitting along side Sito

Was Supple, Bowditch, Macken and Richo

 

Soon after the start Lee found the floor

Just one minute later he was back down for some more

Currie does something daft, Price's kick of height it did lack

The town defence could not keep up with the Albion attack

 

Good tackle Walton- yes I'm talking the game

Currie does something daft once again

Lee shoots wide but on his feet he did stay

And Clarke wins a kick when a Baggie gets in the way

 

Kamara got passed Harding with ease

And another Price kick fails to catch onto the breeze

West Brom have a corner which Lee heads out for a throw

Walton looks round wondering which way to go

 

Town get a corner from a Currie free kick

Naylor goes down and that was about it

Clarke joins the game until taking on 4 defenders

Then he might as well be at home watching Eastenders

 

Koumas gets up to shoot wide of Towns goal

And as Price kicks the ball up you can't hear a soul

I sort out my laces as Lee does something good

Legwinski offers his leg as a hood

 

Kamara finds himself free from the boys dressed in blue

And slips the ball past town goalkeeper Lew

Silence is witnessed from the majority of the ground

As Ipswich find themselves one goal down

 

Harding looks as if he has a mohican

I'm impressed with his style until I see it was the wind

The fans are not happy when Price loses ball one

But when play continues I sit and watch stunned

 

Down the other end in slow motion it seemed

The ball crossed the line as the goalkeeper dreamed

Once again the game is all square on the rectangular pitch

And the fans go mad as Albion win a free kick

 

Then another free kick is given away

A second goal is scored for the Baggies today

Clarke tries to get through and with skill wins the ball

But the ref gives the kick to West Brom the daft fool

 

Kamara unhappy hits Price in the back

Obviously upset with his failed attack

For a moment in time play is encouraging from Town

Then as the ball comes flying I nearly get my head knocked out of the ground!!

 

During half time me bro buys a drink that fizzes over the top

And I lose my winning run in the competition for funky sock

The ball hits a Baggie head so the North stand

Try to convince the ref the ball hit his hand

 

Good play by Clarke goes straight to the keeper

Then after a great challenge from Noble Lee wins a corner

Price gets his fingers to a Phillips strike

But it wasn't enough to keep Town from falling 1-3 behind

 

Bowditch comes on as Currie goes off

Walton is booked and the fans get cross

Kamara enjoys space as the Town defence are nowhere to be seen

As we go 1-4 behind, on Price this is mean

 

'This could get embarrassing' I think to myself

An attendance of 22587 is announced

De Vos and Naylor are off in fairy land

Leaving Lewis Price running around like a mad man

 

Bowditch is fouled and kicked while he's down

A fight soon erupts and wakes up the crowd

Naylor is booked along with another

But I couldn't see who and nor could my brother

 

Legwinski was poor but as I try to yell

By the time I've said his name my anger ran out

No game is complete until Bruce gets booked

Noble is fouled and I see how cute Richards looks

 

Some neat triangle play from Lee, Bowditch and Clarke

Fail to get Towns second half off the mark

Walton goes off with Richards to replace

Who automatically sends a good ball which Clarke runs out of play

 

When Laurel and Hardy show off the ref says play on

A Richards good ball into the box is soon scrambled and gone

A good attack from Lee is matched by a good defence

With the game nearly over, surely this meant

 

No comeback for Town we lost all 3 points

But with 4 minutes added they could at least oil their joints

Noble gets booked for kicking the ball

Then Phillips gets his hat trick ending it all.
