Town came from a goal behind to take all three points against Southampton at Portman Road earlier today.

Kenwyne Jones put Southampton in front after just three minutes when he volleyed home Rasiak’s flick on from Dyer’s cross.

 

Town were pulled level on 67 minutes after Pedro Pele had fouled Alan Lee and the referee awarded Town a penalty which Simon Walton converted.

 

Billy Clarke made it 2-1 after he headed home Mark Noble’s cross with 12 minutes to go and Town held on for the final minutes as Southampton peppered Lewis Price’s goal.

 

Ipswich: Price, Bruce, De Vos, Naylor, Harding, Williams, Noble, Walton, Richards (Legwinski 56), Lee (Bowditch 90), Macken (Clarke 65).

Subs Not Used: Supple, Currie.
