Report: Wolves 1-0 Town
By Aston August 9 2006
Town left the midlands still searching for their first win under new Town manager Jim Magilton after a 1-0 defeat against Wolves yesterday.

The home side took the lead after 27 minutes when Carl Cort fired the ball from 30-yards past Town ‘keeper Shane Supple, but Cort was only on the pitch for ten more minutes when he shown a red card for an elbow to the face of Town midfielder Gavin Williams.

Town had a glorious chance to level the score just before the break when Nicky Forster was brought down in the area by Jody Craddock and Town were awarded a penalty which Matt Richards stepped up to take and had saved by Matt Murray in the Wolves goal.

Gavin Williams had a shoot come back off the post for Dean Bowditch to tap in but the young striker was ruled to be off side.

Despite the one man advantage for more then half the game and having 61% of the possession Town simply could create the chances needed to win.
