Jermaine Jenas is not in the squad for Newcastle United’s first match of the season against Dubnica.

A few stars will not feature in the inter-toto cup match. New signings Scott parker and Emre will not play either.

Ameobi is injured, as is Titus Bramble while Shay Given is likely only the figure on the bench.

Carr joins Jenas in being left out as both played for their separate countries at the end of last season.

Newcastle (from): Given, Harper, Caig, Ramage, Babayaro, Boumsong, Taylor, Elliott, Huntington, Bowyer, Butt, Faye, Milner, N'Zogbia, Brittain, Shearer, Dyer, Chopra.
