Carr Bid | Caldwell Going Back On Loan

Newcastle United are set to bid for Stephen Carr in January, as they prepare to send Scottish Gary Caldwell back out on loan (Who has spent the last two months at Derby County) Newcastle United are set to revive their interest in Tottenham fullback Stephen Carr, who they tried to sign over the summer.

However, Glenn Hoddle (Then incharge of Spurs') demanded Shola Ameobi in exchange.

With Carr yet to sign a new Spurs deal, Newcastle are expected to make an approach in January about a possible deal.

Newcastle United are expected to send Gary Caldwell back out on-loan when he returns to St James' Park this week. His two-month loan spell at Derby County expired yesterday.

The Scotsman is already Carling Cup-tied and Sir Bobby Robson is said to be offering the youngster to other interested clubs.
